J. Strawn* grew up on the U.S. East Coast and London, England. She studied at University College London, earned an Undergraduate degree at New York University, and attended the Yeronisos Island Excavations & Field School in Cyprus.
Her colorful background includes extensive worldwide travel, a student membership with the Explorers Club, music production, student and semi-professional acting, nannying in the Hamptons, and even a painful stint at an Italian fashion house in NYC. She was an assistant and later online editor at McGraw-Hill and worked with the world's top scientists covering everything from eye anatomy to quantum mechanics.

J. Strawn often writes Science Fiction and Gothic Fantasy but doesn't believe that anyone should be beholden to just one genre. She is currently working on too many novels, short stories, and creates serial fictions via Twitter.

N. Strawn* Luna Mare stems from project started in a basement studio in TriBeCa under the Gigantic Art Space. Musicians from backgrounds in jazz, punk, metal, and afrobeat joined DJ’s and actors in weekly performance sessions. This Tin Balloon project branched out into Qualium, Luna Mare, Sacrosanct Wednesdays and Revenge of the Justified Sinner. Musicians swapped instruments freely. Qualium played live in Downtown and Brooklyn venues Luna Lounge, ACME and the Lucky Cat.

Over the years Luna Mare has composed and performed music for radio, theatre, podcasts, and film. Remixing, recording, and collaboration continue in California. Recent releases have included Luna Mare, Sacrosanct Wednesdays, and Qualium. This is more to come.
